Several states along the path of the upcoming Solar Eclipse – which takes place on Monday, Aug. 21 – will have some oversized/over-dimensional travel restrictions.
Georgia has no specific oversize travel restrictions listed.

Missouri is restricting all superload travel on Saturday, Aug. 19 through Monday, Aug 21.
Nebraska, like most states along the path of the solar eclipse, is anticipating excessive traffic, and as a result will restrict oversized/over-dimensional loads which require a permit. The loads will not be allowed to travel through the state from sunset Friday, Aug. 18 until sunrise Tuesday, Aug. 22. During the solar eclipse, 90 percent of the sun will be hidden from view.
Although restrictions apply to oversized/over-dimensional travel, there are no restrictions for vehicles operating solely on an overweight permit, according to the state patrol website.
Other states will also experience restrictions to oversize load travel.
North Carolina has no specific oversize closure warnings psoted, but also provides safety and travel tips.
Oregon DOT is restricting any overwidth loads from operating anywhere in Oregon from noon Friday, Aug. 18 to 12:01 a.m., Tuesday Aug. 22. Emergency moves still require a permit. Other over-dimensional loads with permits, including triples, will still be allowed.

South Carolina has no specific travel restrictions at this point.
Tennessee has no specific oversize travel restrictions posted.
Wyoming highways will be off limits to oversize or overweight load travel from Sunday, Aug. 20 through Tuesday, Aug. 22. This state restriction is for all over-dimensional loads which require a permit.
This is the first time since 1918, the United States will experience a total solar eclipse. The solar eclipse will span approximately 80 miles wide from coast to coast and approximately 200 million people live within a day’s drive of the path of totality.
The Federal Highway Administration has also put together a site with additional information for each state in chronological order under the Solar Eclipse path at https://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/fhwahop16085/
